Yesterday, we had a lovely visit with Mr. Indi's sister - who is a Sister! She bought us some lovely gifts including a bag full of delish tiny ginger and cinnamon cookies. I must get the recipe - they are addictive! I was in the bag at 4:30 this morning with a cup of tea! She also gave us a lovely picture of dear Sister Renilde which will be a great reminder of a great friend.
After an hour of talking each other's leg off, we went to the Mexican joint for some lunch and that is where the picture was taken by Joe, the restaurant owner, who is actually Cuban! Mr. Indi is standing in front of a painting by the famous Mexican artist Diego Rivera. The picture is called Nude with Calla Lilies and it's a good thing that Mr. Indi's big head is covering the nude part - we wouldn't want any naked bums on the blog, would we? We had a good meal and a couple of cold ones and before you knew it, it was time for D to get on the road. Our visits are always too short - but sweet!
Today, we are going to look for a reclining chair for Mr. Indi. He is having lots of trouble trying to find a comfortable chair to sit in in this house and he found that the recliner at the chemo center was just the job for taking the pressure off his back and legs. While searching the internet, he found a chair that looks to be the right kind of thing and they have it in a showroom at a store about 15 miles away - so as soon as I get more gas in the van - some lunch money from the hole in the wall - a few groceries and eat some more of those delicious little cookies, I shall have the strength to push his Lordship around in his transporter looking at comfy chairs ( Oh No! Not the Big Comfy Chair!) For those that don't get it - see Monty Python.
I don't want to say this too loudly BUT - I think the dreaded cardigan might be finished today and then all that will be left is to buy the buttons. Shhhhhhhhhh! Don't say anything!
