Multi-Tasking!

Yesterday, Mr. Indi decided that the bedpan that I had so kindly purchased for him, wasn't worth a darn and would be of more use as a cowboy hat than a potty! I think he quite likes it on his head, as I caught him wearing his bedpan, scrubbing his teeth and working on his computer - all at the same time!

I know that many of you will have questions about his bedroom - it may be better not to ask! Why is his room painted lilac? Why does he have a basket of hand made dollies on his night stand? Why does he use a "Round Table Pizza" cup for his toothbrush? And, what is that torture implement hanging on the headboard? Well, like any good mystery novel - the answers will become clear one day - maybe!

Yesterday was another busy day but I think we between Mr. Indi, S and me, we have got this bureaucratic elephant moving a little. I decided to book the transportation to the chemo center on Wednesday regardless of whether the insurance pays or not. It isn't that expensive ($158 for a round trip) as long as we don't have to have it every day. And, should the insurance decide to give authorization, I can fill out forms to get reimbursement. They will be here at 8:30 Wednesday morning and that is a load off my mind.

Mr. Indi received a large package in the mail that contained all the information re: his benefits program from his work - it's about 250 pages long and will require someone with a PHd in benefitology to figure out what the heck they are talking about but we will put on our cowboy hats and work on it! My first assignment was to go down to the stationary store and buy a pretty binder to put it in. Mr. Indi spent the afternoon punching holes and filing all the papers - and the bedroom is now showered with hole punchings and we still don't have a clue what it is about - but it sure looks nice!

At 11:00 a.m. a sweet lady named, Doll, showed up. She is my helper from the Home Health Care Agency. She got to work and showed me how to wash Mr. Indi's hair while he lay in the bed (without getting water everywhere.) She had obviously done it once or twice before. She also gave him a nice wash and massaged his poor legs with some moisturizing lotion. She then helped me with the bed and ran the dry mop round the floor. She will be here again today for an hour. I get her 3 times a week for one hour each time.

Our advocate, S, is working on chasing down the authorization for his Lordship's next MRI and also prodding the insurance company to pay for the transportation. She works hard on our case.

I got a call at 8:00 p.m. last night and another physical therapist will be coming at 3: 30 this afternoon to torture Mr. Indi. He'd better take the potty off his head - people will start to think we are quite mad!

... or potty !

(Where's the big toothy grin smiley when you want one ?!)

SO VERY GLAD you are at last getting some help ... my goodness, you deserve it. And an hour or two each day or so to do your own thing, even if its just to sit in the rocker on the porch, with the crochet rug on your knees, looking at the sunset and smoking your old corn-cob pipe ... you need it !

Lots of love to you both ! XXX

I took a closer look at the instrument of torture hanging on the bed-post ... its one of those easy reach things, for picking up objects on the floor when you cant reach !

I have two that were mothers ... useful for grabbing things lost under the bed or down the back of the sofa.

Granny,
You clever old thing! Yes it's a grabber - Mr. Indi uses it for grabbing many things - including, but not limited to, my bum!
