These two little boys (about 8 years old) were having a great time cutting up fish bait in the sink on the pier - as you can see there is no fence along the side! Yikes. I wonder how many people fall in the drink? The large bird above them is a pelican who was bound and determined to get in on the action. He wouldn't leave them alone.
The hippie van was parked along the beach near the pier in Santa Barbara - what an amazing sight! The van is covered in toys and figures of all kind - from Homer Simpson to G. I. Joe! The chap who owns it is a really nice bloke who isn't shy about asking for some dosh if you want to take pictures of his handiwork. I yelled at Mr. Indi to put some cash out while I snapped! It has taken the owner 12 years - so far - to cover the van with stuff. It's wonderful!
The boats were parked on the sand next to the entrance to the Santa Barbara Harbor. There were quite a few people para-surfing and I was happy that I got a shot of one of the lovely moon shaped kites.
The last picture was taken at Ventura Harbor - on our way home. The fog was still in and hadn't cleared by the time we left at 1:30pm. But, I sometimes think that the fog makes the bougainvillea look even more vibrant. We ate at the Italian place before making the long drive home - the food was very good. And so - Mr. Indi has chemo today - I need to get busy with chores and our weekend is gone! Darn!
