Choo Choo!

Mr. Indi was home yesterday for blood tests. When he was finished with that, he came home and worked from the house on his laptop and cell phone for the rest of the morning. We were going to go to the fish place for lunch but I know that he has been craving Mexican food - and even though it's a bit tricky with my nasty throat - I suggested that we try a couple of cervezas and some frijoles!

The only decent Mexican joint within 10 miles of here is Senor Pepe's - BUT - it is such a dive. The food is great but the restaurant is old and shabby, the waitresses are old and shabby, the beer is warm and the glasses are plastic! I just couldn't face the prospect of being served by a 70 year old crone with smudged lipstick and a dirty apron so I suggested that we try Jauncho's, a little cafe-like place that we haven't been to in about 15 years.

Jauncho's is tucked away in between a church and a winery and is easy to miss if you blink your eyes. Inside the place is spotless and the waitresses are young and pleasant and wear clean aprons - so right away, we knew that we had made the right decision. Our lunch was very good. He had Chilli Verde and I had Chilli Relleno - we both had cerveza which was chilled and served in a clean glass that was glass! As we were driving away from Jauncho's, Mr. Indi remarked that it would be a very good place to have a wake. One could have the funeral at the church, a couple of glasses of wine at the winery, and a bit of nosh at the Mexican joint! I told him that I would make a note of his suggestion!

Today's picture is another part of the mural in Temecula. Sorry about the perspective - but you get the idea!
